Charlie is a magizoologist specializing in dragon research. He is currently the Head of Research for the Welsh Dragon Reserve, where he is provided with a tiny cottage since he is required to live on the reserve, which is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation. The Welsh Reserve is minuscule compared to Romania, but the opportunity to be a senior staff member responsible for running a reserve and a chance to work with yet another breed of dragon drew Charlie home. He has a goal of eventually researching and keeping all ten known breeds of dragon and he is well on his way. He has rekindled a romance from his seventh year at Hogwarts with his long-time friend, Athena McGonagall, and the two enjoy a very passionate and loving relationship. Despite his mother's desire to see him settle down, Charlie refuses to marry until he has completed his work goals. He works hard, plays hard, enjoys time with friends and family, and is particularly close to his brother Bill.
